I couldn't think of a
creative title so February 29th it is...sorry...but hey, It's February
29th and that doesn't happen every year so I guess that's cool too. So
this week was pretty good. We have been contacting a lot, trying to find
new investigators so I am hoping we will see the fruits of our labors
this week!
This
week, Hermana Gonzales went to a leadership conference, and so I got
the chance to work with Hermana Mancuso. It was truly a great experience
and I learned so much. I always learn a ton from companion exchanges
and am so grateful for the chance to learn from other missionaries. It
was interesting because we are from the same group and so we are kind of
in the same place as far as missionary experience goes, but it was fun
to see how far we've come. It was also interesting because during our
lessons, we could both understand and answer the questions that our
investigators and less actives had and was just like wow, the gift of
tongues is real.
In
one of our visits I remember we were about to start a lesson with a
less active of Hermana Mancuso's who had some doubts and we were trying
to figure out some scriptures to share and what to say and I remember
Hermana Mancuso saying "If Hermana Velez was here (her companion who has
like a year in the mission), she would know what to do" But I just
turned to her and said, well, Hermana Velez isn't here, we are and we
are here because the Lord has put us here in this situation at this
time. The words we say are the words she will need to hear because
that's the way God has laid it out to be. We may not have as much time
as other missionaries but we have our testimonies and I believe that we
know more that we think we do. When we have confidence and trust in the
Lord, relying on the spirit, we have the power to be illuminated and say
the things that are needed in that very moment. Ne}ver doubt the
importance of your words. There are things you can say that no one else
can and there are people out there who need your help and comfort. Sorry
this letter isn't too long, but I hope you all have a great week and
follow the promptings of the spirit to help those in need!
